THE ITALIAN BAND 2007

On November 29  Ponsacco , Italy - I performed a concert with Alessandro Di Puccio— (our vibraphonist) piano  , Paolo Ghetti— bass, Alessandro Fabbri— drums …… at Club Enogastronomico "IL CAVATAPPI" in Calcinaia which is a small town just outside Pisa in preparation for a subsequent recording session featuring this fine group of highly talented ITALIAN jazz. musicians. For the recording we added Paolo Biro the great Italian jazz pianist and Di puccio returned to the vibraphones.

 A surprisingly hip and cozy restaurant that features jazz music ( yes, they own a real pianoforte on stage), great framed jazz portraits and a gourmet chef from the “Society of Slow Food”…. If you weren’t there you can only imagine!

 

 

La collaborazione col bostoniano Mike Turk, uno dei maggiori
virtuosi dell'armonica cromatica nel jazz contemporaneo, risale al
1999 con l'incisone del CD "A taste of cannonball" (orgm 9708).
Questo nuovo progetto, concepito e prodotto dallo stesso Turk, si
concretizzerà nella prossima registrazione di un CD dove, accanto a
"standards" della tradizione jazzistica, verranno proposti brani
originali arrangiati specificatamente per questa formazione.
La serata sarà l'anteprima di questo progetto davvero interessante
e da non perdere.

 On December 3 and 4 we recorded at Drumcode Studio in Sesta Godana near La spezia and engineered by Philipp Nedel of B-Sharpe Media Solutions.  Tracks are now in post production and should be released early in 2008.
